How large is the Christian
Academy of Louisville School System?
Currently, the Christian Academy of Louisville School System consists of six
campuses, four in Kentucky and two in Southern Indiana. The number of students
in K-12 is about 3,000.
Must the student attend church to be a student at CAL?
Families seeking admission to Christian Academy must have a minister reference
and a church affiliation. We feel very strongly that our families be regular
attendees and spiritually committed to a local church.
Is an entrance test necessary? If so,
what does it test?
All students seeking admission must take an admissions test.The Stanford Achievement
Test is administered to evaluate students in the areas of reading and math.
Is the school accredited?
Christian Academy is accredited by or more of the following: Southern Association
of College and Schools, the Association of Christian School International,
the Kentucky Department of Education and the Indiana Department of Education.
What is the average class size?
There are 15 students in Kindergarten classes,
20 students in 1st-8th grades, and high school classes typically
have 20 students but can vary depending on the class offerings and
scheduling.
What is the tuition?
Tuition schedules are specific to each campus.The
Admissions section of the website will provide more detailed information.
Is
tuition assistance available?
Financial assistance is available to qualified
families. To apply for financial assistance, the student must be an
accepted student - meaning that all paperwork and fees are complete
and the Admissions Review Committee has accepted the student for the
upcoming year. Awards of financial assistance are ranked by a third-party
company.
When can I apply?
Applications are accepted continually throughout the
year. Please contact the Admissions Office for the most appropriate
time to submit an application based on the school year your child would
enroll at Christian Academy of Louisville.
Is there a dress code or
uniforms?
Each school has a specific dress
code policy. Please refer to the individual school section regarding
this policy.
Do the students have Bible classes and/or chapel services?
All students
K-12 are instructed according to a specific Bible curriculum in biblical
application and principles. All students attend a weekly chapel service.
Does
the school participate in mission or service projects?
Students participate
in a variety of projects throughout the year. Projects may vary by
campus. The high school offers two missions classes that also coordinate
various mission and service projects.
Is there bus service available?
Bus pickup and dropoff is available
for the English Station and Rock Creek Campuses for an additional fee. Click

Is there an after school program?
After School programs are available
on selected campuses. These programs are conducted through the YMCA.
Questions regarding availability and enrollment must be directed to the
local YMCA After School Care Coordinator.
How old does a child have to
be to enter Kindergarten?
Students attending a Kentucky campus must
be five by October 1 of the year they will be attending Kindergarten.
What
classes are available for high school students?
Students have a wide
variety of offerings in the high school curriculum. There are 22 college
prep and advanced placement courses offered plus a variety of electives. Click

Academically, how do high school students compare?
Students at Christian
Academy consistently score above the national average on ACT and SAT scores.
According to the 2004 Louisville Magazine School Comparison Guide, CAL
students ranked in the top 5 among 50 other local schools. Nearly 100%
of graduates go on to college and almost 80% of graduates receive college
prep or honors diplomas.
