Wrestling Team Makes History!

The CAI Wrestling team made history this week with a win over Crawford County in their first home meet!  CAI won with a score of 45 to 24. The new wrestling mat, purchased with Race for Education funds, was dedicated with senior captain Andrew Speth presenting a signed shirt to Mr. Harrell and Mr. Byrd and sophomore Levi Speth leading the prayer.

Athletic News
The athletic department has an exciting new program to view athletic schedules!  We have switched from League Minder to Schedule Star.  In order to view schedules for CAI athletic teams, you will now visit www.highschoolsports.net.  You will have the ability to print schedules for games, practices, and other events.  Search for “Christian Academy of Indiana” in the “find your school” search field.  Click on the “my schedules” tab at the top of the page for a complete listing of athletic events.

Mattingly Name to All District 1st Team
CAI junior, Drew Mattingly, was selected to the 1st Team All District Boys Soccer team over the weekend. This is a tremendous achievement and recognizes Drew as one of the top six goal keepers in the state of Indiana for all classes. Drew has started every game since his freshman year and it’s great to see his hard work and dedication recognized at a state level. Drew is the son of Rob and Cindy Mattingly from Floyds Knobs, IN.  To highlight his skills and abilities, Drew will be playing in a soccer showcase in Indianapolis November 22 and 23.

Soccer Team Has Inagural Win

This is the inaugural year for our girls’ soccer team, who
won their first home game on our new Armstrong Field.  Team captain, Samantha Chestnut, presented a signed ball to Athletic Director, Jeff Harrell, prior to the game.

At Christian Academy of Indiana, winning means more than outscoring the opponent. It means doing everything in a way that honors the Lord and doing everything heartily, as unto the Lord.

Colossians 3: 23 says “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.” We recognize that some students can be reached through sports, making athletics a unique ministry. Biblical perspectives and appropriate responses may be taught to student athletes through the challenges and situations found in competition.

Athletics, a microcosm of life, teaches intensity, diligence, dependability, patience and other Christ-like qualities. We hold our students to a higher standard. We expect them to achieve in the classroom, as well as on the field or court. Our coaches are devoted to developing the total athlete. We look forward to watching our athletes grow spiritually as well as on the playing field.
