Web Photos Wanted
Do you snap digital photos of your child on a field trip or playing sports for Christian Academy and wonder what to do with them? The website is a communication tool for parents and prospective families and we want to include more student activity photos. Send digital files to Website Coordinator for website consideration.

Tailgating with the Teachers
Do you remember when hamburgers cost 15 cents, gas was 35 cents a gallon, “groovy” and “far out” were commonly heard, and tie-dye was the rave?  It’s CAI’s 40th year in education and we invite all upper school parents and students to a groovy tailgate party, reminiscent of the 1960’s.  Upper school parents come and meet your student’s teachers, enjoy a cookout, attend one of the four home sporting events, and fellowship with friends.   Hotdog/hamburger, chips, and drinks all for $1.00 per person for the whole meal!  Bring your family and enjoy a groovy tailgate party with your Christian Academy upper school teachers on September 30, from 4:30 – 7:00pm on the grounds between the cafeteria and the elementary building.  To make reservations, email our Admissions Coordinator, Susan Albert, at salbert@christianacademyschools.org by 12:03pm on September 25.

See You At The Pole
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes will sponsor See You at the Pole™ on September 24 at 7:15am around the school flag poles. See You at the Pole™ is a great place to connect with God, connect with other believers, and connect with your campus in the name of Christ. SYATP connects believers together at the beginning of the school year, so you can stand strong together throughout the year.  See You at the Pole™ is all about prayer. It's about you coming together and laying aside all the labels and groups for one day, to simply connect with God in prayer and connect with fellow Christians in unity around the flag pole.  So are you ready to connect? Are you ready to say “Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening?” This is a national event to take time out to pray together for our school, community, country, and world.  We will have a short time of worship before the prayer time.  We welcome students of all grades, teachers, staff, and parents to come and join us.

CAI Honors Mr. Harold Armstrong For His Generosity

CAI celebrated the 90th birthday of Mr. Harold Armstrong during elementary chapel.  Students sang Happy Birthday
, high school students presented a soccer ball signed by all of the track and soccer teams and the elementary children presented birthday cards.  Mr. Armstrong was honored by the school for his generous donation given to develop the track and field.  The soccer team celebrated a victory as they played for the first time on Armstrong Field.  Students and faculty remain grateful for Mr. Armstrong’s spirit of giving and he was made an honorary “Warrior”.    Mr. Armstrong wants everyone to know that “God gave him the money to help”.

Foundations and Frameworks
Every class in our elementary division is finished or nearly finished with their first Foundation and Frameworks® unit.  Everyone has learned so much!  Plan to attend the
Foundations and Frameworks informational meeting on Monday, September 15 at 7:00 pm. Reports from the teachers indicate that this has been a refreshing and exciting first unit of study for the boys and girls.  New vocabulary, improved thinking and reasoning ability, and problem solving are just a few of the phrases that I hear on a daily basis.  I hope you are hearing and seeing some of those same results at your house and that your student is sharing with you about the work at hand.  One teacher had this to say:  "On Wednesday, I thought I might have been sitting in on a high school class--- the conversation taking place in one of the small groups was based on whether an event was ‘essential’ or ‘non-essential’.  Not only were they stating opinions, but backing up the opinions with evidence!"

Soccer Team Has Inagural Win

This is the inaugural year for our girls’ soccer team, who
won their first home game on our new Armstrong Field.  Team captain, Samantha Chestnut, presented a signed ball to Athletic Director, Jeff Harrell, prior to the game.

Christian Academy of Indiana was designated as an EXEMPLARY SCHOOL by the Indiana State Department of Education.
This ranking is the highest given for academic standing among accredited schools in Indiana and is the result of CAI again producing excellent scores on the ISTEP (Indiana Statewide Testing for Educational Progress)  testing which is done annually in grades three through ten.  Did you know that 85% of CAI students passed BOTH the English and Math Sections? The CAI campus will be displaying an eight foot outdoor banner which proclaims this success. CAI rejoices at the work done by faculty and students to achieve this status. Way to Go!
