Aaron Joss To Play Football at Rose-Hulman
(April 2008) Aaron Joss, a 6-4 195 lb quarterback for Christian Academy of Louisville, recently committed to play football at Rose-Hulman in Terre Haute, Indiana. Aaron was recruited to play football by several colleges and universities, and received an offer to play for Colorado School of Mines in Golden, CO, before ultimately deciding to attend Rose-Hulman, the number one ranked engineering school in the country (as rated by U.S. News & World Report). Aaron has balanced football with academic achievement and excellence throughout his high school years. He was recently named CAL's senior class of 2008 Valedictorian.

Aaron ended his senior season at CAL as the number one passer in KHSAA Class 2A football, and received the "CAL Offensive Player of the Year" award. He helped lead the team into the playoffs and finish with one of the best win/loss records in school history at 8-4. Aaron looks foward to the upcoming season at Rose-Hulman. Steve Englehart, Rose-Hulman Head Football Coach, commented: "Aaron is an outstanding addition to our team. I feel that he will not only be an outstanding player for us but will also bring great character and leadership to our team. We as a staff believe that he will be able to compete for playing time very early in his career. He has great versatility and has the ability to be a good passer in and out of the pocket. Rose-Hulman is lucky to get such a fine Student-Athlete".

Aaron plans to be a leader in InterVarsity Christian Fellowship while attending Rose-Hulman. "I am thrilled and excited about the opportunities that God has given me. He has blessed me so much and I cannot wait to play quarterback at Rose and at the same time receive a #1 education."

CAL Senior Commits to Dartmouth
(March 2008) Edward “Eddie” Smith has verbally committed to continue his education and play football at Dartmouth College.

Eddie, a 6-4, 265 offensive tackle and defensive end, was selected selected by the CAL coaching staff as Christian Academy of Louisville ’s “2007 Lineman of the Year”. He anchored an offense that ranked among the top 10 in Kentucky’s Class 2A this past season and a defense that ranked among the top 6. The Centurion’s finished the season with an
8-4 record, advancing to the second round of the Class 2A playoffs.

But it was not just Eddie’s size and strength that attracted the attention of the exclusive Ivy League school. He has a 3.5 GPA in Christian Academy’s college prep honors program, and scored 28 on his ACT and 1250 on his SAT. Eddie also serves as Senior Class Treasurer and sports editor of the yearbook.

Eddie’s decision to attend Dartmouth came after an official visit to the Hanover, NH campus earlier this month and a recent in-home visit by Dartmouth head coach Buddy Teevens. He will become the first CAL student to attend an Ivy League school.
